Ready-made Speechlets

The world is full of the ignition-points for what some call 'Ready-made Speechlets'.

Sometimes they're quotes from famous (or infamous) people, sometimes they're a line that grabbed your attention from an overheard conversation or a newspaper, or sometimes they're homilies you've grown up with - or just invented.

For instance:
= May you always look about you with pleasure and above with gratitude.

= May we always look upon the faults and frailities of others with the same eyes we look upon our own, and never forget that "to err is human, to forgive divine."

= May the best day that you have seen be the worst that is to come.

= Here's a toast to everybody; let none be slighted.

Notice what they have in common - generally, a 'feel-good' factor. Depending on your
audience, that could take a sharper or more provocative tone.

But what a great starting point. Throw out the notion, then pick up on the reaction of the first person in the audience whose reaction catches your eye.

And you'll improve your public speaking performance out of sight - in moments!
